On site with the new swimming pool project

After a delay whilst the tilers laid the tiles and the walls were given their final coat of water based eggshell,I was ready to go again.

The murals are pasted onto the wall with a heavy duty anti mould paste with a small bead surround which will be incorporated into a trompe l'oeil frame. The walls were then measured for the faux stone work and then begin to stick the specialist sign writers tape which will act as the grout line for the stone blocks.

I have reached a stage where the stones are marked out with tape as are the pillars and the next step is to begin applying some paint.

I use a mixture of earth colours to get a slight variation between each block and trying to mimic nature.

Next the tape comes off revealing the "grout lines".

Shadow lines are painted to give a 3d more realistic look.

Having finished the stone work I have started work on the trompe l'oeil columns and window architrave's.
